A SCHOOL COUNSELOR IS...

  • A change agent

    • The information that I gather from school data and from stakeholders (school administration, school staff, parents, community supports, etc.) will be used to build and maintain the most effective school counseling program

  • A leader

    • As your School Counselor, I will take the lead on the Challenge 5 Attendance Works initiative for Harrison Elementary

    • I will serve on student support teams like BSAT and Hawk Watch.

    • I will coordinate supports for families experiencing homelessness.

  • An advocate

    • I will advocate for students of all abilities, including students receiving talented and gifted (TG) services and special education services.

"Today's school counselors are vital members of the education team. They help all students in the areas of academic achievement, career and social/emotional development, ensuring today's students become the productive, well-adjusted adults of tomorrow."
